
Today at the Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) board meeting, Judge Andy Eads, Denton County, was sworn in to fill Denton County Seat 2 on the DCTA board. Dianne Costa, the City of Highland Village, was appointed board secretary.
Judge Eads has served on the Denton County Commissioners Court since 2007. On January 1, 2019, he became County Judge. Previously he served Denton County as Commissioner for Precinct 4. He has focused on cutting taxes while at the same time addressing the increasing demands of one of the fastest-growing counties in Texas.
Judge Eads is the past Chairman of the Regional Transportation Council (RTC) for the DFW region. He has served on the Council for more than ten years. Civic leadership and actively fostering relationships with the non-profits in Denton County is one of Judge Eads’ highest priorities. A native Texan and a fifth-generation resident of Denton County, he received his Bachelor of Business Administration from Howard Payne University and his Master of Public Administration from the University of North Texas.

The Denton County Transportation Authority is governed by a five voting-member Board appointed by respective entities from Denton County and the cities of Denton, Highland Village, and Lewisville serving two-year terms. Large cities, small cities and other Denton County cities make up the remaining six non-voting members. Board members must have professional experience in the field of transportation, business, government, engineering or law. In accordance with DCTA by-laws, the Board adopts the annual operating budget and is responsible for setting policy. The CEO oversees the day-to-day operations of DCTA and implements policies set forth by the Board.
