The Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) is partnering with the University of North Texas (UNT) to provide FREE commencement shuttle service to help graduates, their families and friends avoid traffic during UNT’s commencement weekend on Friday, May 13 and Saturday, May 14, 2016.
The free commencement shuttle service will replace regular Friday and Saturday UNT Campus Shuttle services. The commencement shuttles will run frequently from the Euline Brock Downtown Denton Transit Center (DDTC) to the UNT commencement events at Apogee Stadium, Murchison Performing Arts Center and the UNT Coliseum. Friday commencement shuttle service will be available from 6:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. and Saturday commencement shuttle service will be available from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.
The main commencement event is scheduled for Friday, May 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Apogee Stadium. Individual college recognition ceremonies are scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. on Friday and 8:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 14.
In addition to the free commencement shuttle service, DCTA encourages people who plan to attend the UNT commencement ceremonies to ride the A-train to avoid heavy traffic. The agency will operate regular A-train weekday and Saturday service during the UNT commencement weekend.
