DCTA to Offer Free Rides for Veterans and Active Military Personnel

The Denton County Transportation Authority (DCTA) will honor veterans and military personnel with free rides on Veteran’s Day on Friday, November 11. In order to receive free rides all day, veterans and active military personnel must show their military ID, state-issued ID with veteran/military designation or discharge papers to agency bus and rail operators.

The Veteran’s Day free-ride promotion is valid on the following DCTA services:

  • A-train commuter rail
  • Denton and Lewisville Connect Bus
  • Highland Village Connect Shuttle
  • University of North Texas Campus Shuttle

The promotion does not apply to DCTA’s Community and Frisco On-Demand, Access, North Central Texas College (NCTC) Campus Shuttle or vanpool services. In addition, passengers who plan to transfer from DCTA to the Dallas Area Rapid Transit (DART) will need to have and/or purchase a DART local system pass for that portion of their trip.
