A-train
The A-train is a 21-mile regional rail system connecting Denton and Dallas Counties. DCTA has five A-train stations; two in Denton and three in Lewisville and also interfaces with DART at their Trinity Mills Station in Carrollton. Passengers can transfer to the Green Line, which provides access to Downtown Dallas, the Medical District, Pleasant Grove, Fair Park, DART’s Red, Orange and Blue Lines and the Trinity Railway Express. Hours of Operation
Weekday Service
The A-train operates during the peak periods at 25 minute frequencies; approximately 5:00 AM - 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM - 9:00 PM Monday – Friday. DCTA operates the A-train Shuttle Bus during the midday when the A-train does not operate. This midday service is available approximately 10:30 AM – 3:00 PM and provides service to all A-train stations and DART’s Trinity Mills.
Weekend Service
Limited A-train service is available Friday nights and Saturdays with service ending before Midnight. The A-train does not operate on Sundays or major holidays.
Crossing Safety
Call the Denton County Transportation Authority Rail Dispatch at 972-790-0495 if your car becomes stalled or stuck on the tracks for any reason or if the lights and gates are not operating properly. The Dispatch number can easily be found on the silver signal control building (bungalow) located at each crossing. The crossings are identified by their unique DOT number also conveniently located on the bungalow adjacent to the signal.
