What is Access?

DCTA offers a special demand-responsive transportation service for persons with disabilities who are unable to utilize the regular fixed-route service because of their disability. This service meets the guidelines established by the Americans with Disabilities Act. Detailed policies and procedures are available online.

 

How can I qualify for Access service?

Applications for rider certification are available online. Call 940-243-0077 to request an application by mail.

 

Where can I connect to Commuter Express service?

You can connect to Commuter Express service at the Park and Ride locations in Denton and Lewisville. Our Park and Rides are at the following locations:

Movies 8 in Lewisville
420 Oak Bend Blvd.
Lewisville, TX 76051

 

Where can I buy tickets for Access?

You can purchase tickets at Sack N’ Save locations in Denton, via mail or online.

Will the passes be good on Access in Denton, Highland Village and Lewisville?

Yes, DCTA Access passes are valid on all Access services.

 

Will the passes be good on Connect services?

DCTA Access certified riders with a valid paratransit photo ID receive Connect services free.

 

Will the passes be good on Commuter Express services and vice-versa?

No. DCTA Access passes are not valid on Commuter Express services. A separate fare will be needed for DCTA Commuter Express.

 

Can I use my credit card to buy passes/tickets?

Visa and MasterCard are accepted in our online store. We accept cash, check or money order for other fare purchase methods.

 

What days does Access operate?

Access service operates Monday through Saturday, excluding major holidays.

 

Who do I call if I lost something?

If you lost an item on the bus, please call 940-243-0077 to reach our lost and found service. If you have the date, route number, and trip time available, that will aid in the search for your lost item. DCTA is not responsible for items left on buses, but we will do our best to help you locate it. Items are kept for a maximum of 30 days.

 

Can I eat and drink on the bus?

For the comfort of all passengers, eating, drinking and smoking are not permitted on board DCTA vehicles. Food and beverages may only be carried on board in secure, closed, spill-proof containers.

 

Are pets allowed on the bus?

Properly identified service animals are allowed on Access buses.

 

Are the vehicles wheelchair accessible?

Yes, each vehicle is equipped with a wheelchair lift.

 

Do you have ride guides available in different languages and formats?

If you have a special need, please contact DCTA with your request, and we will accommodate your needs.
